Tile! We have tile! And it's starting to look like a bathroom, and less like a shambles. (A very clean and tidy shambles, too be sure, but still...). The tub looks mostly done; the floor will, I hope, be done tomorrow, or mostly so. Progress is a wonderful thing.

Today's progress is a bit less visible, than in past days. But they did tape and prep the walls for priming and painting (to be done later, much later). However, we realized tonight that they didn't leave a hole above the medicine cabinet in which to place the recessed lights that will go over it. At least, they would be recessed if there were a hole to recess it in. I'll be chatting with them in the morning, I guess!
And here's the companion view to the first, with the reverse angle. The place for the vanity lights is visible by its absence.
Yesterday they finished putting up the sheetrock and whatever it is they call it that they use under tile. The sheetrock is green, the tile stuff is grey (see the floor). They were happy to get the measurements for the mirror and light, which will go on this wall where the rectangular hole is.

The bathtub is installed, and it even has running water (at least, it was wet when I first got home tonight). The tile is here, and ready to be installed over the next few days. They put in new studs along the back wall behind the tub, and have even hung some sheetrock. Plus, they moved the heat radiator up the wall a few inches. These guys are fast...

I got home Friday night to find that they'd managed to install the bathtub already. Nieka says they had a dickens of a time doing it, too -- had to rip out a few studs that were there (they'll be replaced later) and had to trim a bit around the edges in the corners. That, and some plumbing work that wasn't entirely expected, it seems. Ah, joy.We finally got the vanity and medicine cabinet ordered, too -- after many go-arounds trying to get a particular model of vanity made by Bertch, it turned out that it didn't come in an 18" deep model, only 21". So out with that. We have one on order now, along with a medicine cabinet. And today (Sunday), we picked out lights and have those on hand. They will need to do some work on the wall to make the new medicine cabinet fit.
