Krakow's Market Square is very large, with a covered marketplace in the center and outdoor stalls surrounding it. Nieka is in front of the east side of the central building.

This is Wawel Cathedral seen from the entrance road to Wawel Castle. Extensive renovations of the castle are nearing an end -- they've been underway since before my first visit here in 1990. Much of the castle is open as a museum.

This is the Wezyks Palace Hotel where we stayed. It's in a tiny little town about 30km from Krakow. A former chateau, the palace is now a small hotel. We stayed in the carriage house across the street. This rural setting was quite nice, except for a phenomenal number of mosquitos.
