Back to Prague Part 2....

Changing of the Guard at Prague Castle
A view of the main entrance to the Castle proper -- the guard-changing ceremony is underway.
Nieka and guard
The Prague Castle is guarded by poker-faced soldiers in dress blue uniforms. Tourists try to get them to blink, look around, or otherwise move. Poor guys. We were polite and settled for a photogrpah. Nieka's the one on the left.
Interior of St. Vita's Cathedral
The view from inside St. Vitus's (St. Vita, in Czech) Cathedral, looking west to the altar. This church was started in the 14th century. Construction proceeded in fits and starts until the 20th century, when it was finally finished.
Interior of St. Vita's Cathedral Rose Window
The reverse view, looking over the main entrance at the rose window.
View from Castle over Prague
Prague's castle sits on a hill overlooking the left bank of the Vltava River. The view from the top is spectacular, if a bit obscured by summer haze.
View from top of cathedral over Prague
This view is from a monastery just south of the castle, with a nice view of the city spread out.
View from Castle over Prague
We climbed up the 287-step sprial staircase to the top of the belltower. The views from the top show the whole city spread out around you. This is the first picture of the two of us after we got engaged the night before.

On to Bohemia....
